Casa della Fanciulla (ongoing)
Winner of the Fondation des Treilles Photography Prize in 2013, with the requirement to work within the Mediterranean basin, Mark Lyon traveled to Sicily on the advice of a friend whose father had founded an orphanage. With the intention of opening the door to a religious community and casting an optimistic gaze upon it Mark gained access to the Casa della Fanciulla. There, he produced fifteen portraits of children in 2013.
In 2025, he initiated a reunion project with these same children—now teenagers—and photographed them again, this time within environments that reflect who they have become.
